Antler pick

An antler pick, made from a cast/shed red deer antler, with the main brow tine forming the point of the pick.

Picks such as these were used a lot in prehistory, for both farming, mining and monument building - examples have been found deep in the Neolithic flint mines of Grimes Graves, and in ditches of hill forts and places such as Silbury Hill and Stonehenge.
